Based in Irvine, Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President to lead a LIHTC and affordable housing portfolio within its Tax Credit Asset Manager team. The role functions as the primary liaison for general partners and internal groups, overseeing asset performance, financial health, and targeted asset-management initiatives in a fast-paced real estate environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently oversee a LIHTC/affordable housing portfolio, acting as the main contact for general partners and Wells Fargo internal teams.
- Monitor the performance of stabilized, construction, and lease-up assets by reviewing third-party reports, conducting inspections, evaluating market conditions, and performing site visits to identify risks and performance issues.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, partnership documents, and sponsor financials to gauge asset health, compliance, and credit quality.
- Identify emerging issues, propose recommendations, and implement action plans, including assessing and communicating risk rating changes to credit partners and senior leadership.
- Review and underwrite general partner consent requests, such as loan refinances, changes in partnership structure, reserve releases, and adjustments to capital contributions.
- Evaluate and process capital contribution requests and reserve withdrawals, ensuring calculations, adjusters, and documentation align with partnership agreements.
- Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and supporting junior team members, while contributing to asset-management process improvements.
- Oversee and track work outsourced to third-party vendors, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with asset management standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or an equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Pay Range
Base pay range offered: $150,000 - $200,000.
The overall pay range listed is $119,000 - $224,000, and employees may be eligible for incentive opportunities.
