Portfolio Manager II, Business Banking

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present Credit Approval Presentations (CAPs), summarizing trends and reporting findings.
• Evaluate commercial credit requests of varying complexity by reviewing business and individual credit and financial information to assess credit risk.
• Assess financial statements and tax returns to determine repayment ability; identify trends affecting repayment, collateral, or operational viability; propose risk rating adjustments supported by changes in financial condition or collateral.
• Perform collateral analyses aligned with cash-flow and CRE lending principles.
• Communicate directly with Relationship Managers and, when needed, clients to enable timely underwriting of credit requests.
• Foster open dialogue and collaboration with the Real Estate Group, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Managed Assets, and other support teams.
• Monitor loans and test covenants; assist with loan closings and maintain credit files and compliance reviews.
• Demonstrate urgency in addressing client requests while maintaining acceptable risk parameters to identify issues and implement timely loan modifications and risk-rating updates as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of commercial and industrial underwriting and/or portfolio management experience, with working knowledge of the banking environment, products, supporting processes, and technology.
• Formal bank credit training is preferred, with a solid understanding of general credit and risk principles, and banking policies/procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial forecast models; experience with the nCino loan origination platform is a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish client relationships and work within a team environment.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
