Position Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President to join the Economic Damages and Valuation team. This role suits an entrepreneurial, highly driven professional with a versatile skill set who can contribute beyond traditional VP duties. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in consulting and business litigation with flexibility and strategic thinking to handle a variety of tasks.
Location: Hybrid remote in San Francisco, CA
Team and Role Details
The position requires a minimum of seven years of experience evaluating economic damages in business litigation across diverse industries. A solid background in financial statement analysis and expert report preparation is essential. The AVP will help lead day-to-day project management and maintain client communications across multiple engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Help lead complex business litigation engagements to quantify economic damages, including engagement planning, task delegation, and team management.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, serving as the direct contact with current and prospective clients.
- Engage with clients in person to gather data and information relevant to the engagement.
- Provide insight on target industries, markets, and competitor information.
- Manage damages analyses by selecting appropriate methodologies and building and reviewing financial models.
- Draft expert reports and review opposing damages experts' reports.
- Take on assignments as an expert witness when appropriate and provide expert witness testimony.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong quantitative focus (e.g., Business, Economics, Math, Finance, or Accounting).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience evaluating economic damages in business litigation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, with strong verbal and written communication skills to produce high-quality expert reports.
- Solid project management abilities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Independent work ethic, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication to address client questions and requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ASA, CVA, ABV, CFA) or progress toward earning them.
- Experience providing testimony is desirable but not required.
Physical and Mental Job Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Travel may be required as needed.
Benefits and Compensation
- Salary range: $145,000 - $190,000. Final offer will reflect a range of factors including skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibilities.
