Job Description

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Interim Accountant to support a manufacturing client through an accounting cleanup and a process improvement initiative. This onsite role in Farmington, CT emphasizes fixed asset cleanup, core general accounting, and audit readiness, with a hands-on, execution-focused approach to delivering results. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of USD 55 to 60 and presents an opportunity to influence controls and financial clarity during a defined project window.

Responsibilities

Support fixed asset cleanup efforts by updating and completing account reconciliations, rollforwards, and depreciation schedules
Assist with reviewing and organizing fixed asset balances and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
Help enhance and refine fixed asset standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related internal controls
Provide general accounting support, including preparation and reconciliation of prepaid expense and accrual accounts
Assist with month-end close activities as needed, including journal entry preparation, account tie-outs, and balance sheet support
Help standardize and organize documentation related to fixed asset processes and controls
Maintain well-organized supporting schedules and files to improve visibility, consistency, and audit preparedness

Requirements

Strong general accounting background with hands-on experience supporting balance sheet accounts
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Proven self-starter who can work independently, manage priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment
Strong ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
