Overview

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Interim Accountant to support a targeted accounting cleanup and process improvement initiative for a well established manufacturing organization. This is a hands on, execution focused role in a fast paced environment, ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys organizing complex data and making an immediate impact. The Interim Accountant will strengthen fixed asset accounting, support core general accounting activities, and improve documentation and audit readiness during a period of transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support fixed asset cleanup efforts by updating and completing account reconciliations, rollforwards, and depreciation schedules
  • Review and organize fixed asset balances and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
  • Help enhance and refine fixed asset standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related internal controls
  • Provide general accounting support, including preparation and reconciliation of prepaid expense and accrual accounts
  • Assist with month end close activities as needed, including journal entry preparation, account tie outs, and balance sheet support
  • Help standardize and organize documentation related to fixed asset processes and controls
  • Maintain well organized supporting schedules and files to improve visibility, consistency, and audit preparedness

Qualifications

  • Strong general accounting background with hands on experience supporting balance sheet accounts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Proven self starter who can work independently, manage priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Strong ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
