Job Description

This onsite role in Westerly, Rhode Island supports member service excellence at Westerly Community Credit Union. The Universal Financial Representative focuses on delivering outstanding member service, building and maintaining relationships with members and peers, cross-selling credit union products, resolving issues, processing transactions, and supporting branch operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain professional performance across the duties of Financial Service Representative and Member Service Representative.
Represent the credit union in a courteous, professional manner.
Process member transactions accurately and efficiently while adhering to procedures to prevent fraud and asset loss.
Open and close accounts.
Process personal and auto loan applications and disbursements.
Open and maintain IRA accounts.
Open, close, and renew certificates of deposit.
Open, close, and manage safe deposit boxes.
Resolve member issues and provide general account information and maintenance.
Scan required member documents into account records.
Follow balancing procedures for MSR and FSR at the end of the shift, ensuring totals align with cash handling.
Address out of balance positions by reconciling transaction slips with computer totals and verifying cash transactions.
Identify member needs and offer suitable solutions using tools from the Member Advocacy Program, including Needs Assessment Forms, Cash Flow charts, and Credit Reports.
Assist members with complex financial situations by reviewing credit reports and cash flows to help them reach their financial goals.
Respond to member inquiries by telephone and direct calls as needed; handle emails and messages promptly.
Monitor organization communications and respond to internal messages within a reasonable timeframe.
Maintain strict confidentiality of member information.
Support department responsibilities such as scanning, maintaining supplies, covering the reception area, and assisting with safe deposit access.
Open and close the lobby area as required by daily operations and keep the workspace clean and organized.
Protect confidential member information and perform daily shredding of obsolete materials.
Able to cover other branch locations as needed by business requirements.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all credit union products and services.
Periodically review the WCCU PEAK Manual and all credit union policies and procedures.
Maintain working knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations as they relate to retail branch operations.

Requirements

Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
Ability to operate department related computer applications and equipment.
Solid math and basic accounting skills.
Positive, can-do attitude.
Caring and community-oriented mindset.
Strong service and sales skills, with a focus on helping members succeed.
Minimum one year of relevant experience.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of member services and the products provided by the credit union.
