Job Description

The Steamship Authority offers a competitive annual salary of USD 108,700 to 140,100 for an onsite role in Falmouth, MA. Join a collaborative finance team responsible for monthly and yearly financial statements, data driven reporting, budgeting support, and audits, with opportunities to build automated tools and influence financial processes.

Responsibilities

Provide quality assurance of imported data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
Run system queries from the Accounting System, Reservation System, Parking Lot System, and other financial systems.
Manage system users and user roles.
Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Internal Audit Manager to develop Accounting System policies and procedures.
Ensure timely reporting of monthly financial statements, cash status reports, and cost center data.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements.
Review and analyze financial statements.
Develop special cost studies and reports as requested.
Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools.
Participate in the preparation of the annual budget.
Assist in the preparation of all third party audit schedules.
Serve as an authorized signatory for checks.
Review and approve inter-bank fund transfers.
Perform other special projects and duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or computer science.
Minimum of three years of experience in the respective disciplines.
Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets.
Ability to identify and define new process improvement opportunities.
In-depth knowledge of the internal audit process and responsibilities.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience handling large data sets and relational databases.
Ability to communicate with and perform department responsibilities as they relate to other levels of management within the Steamship Authority.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Office Suite products.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
