Overview

Position Type: Regular. In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities. This is a Finance professional role within Schwab's branch network, where innovative thinking meets practical problem solving to challenge the status quo and drive transformation in the finance industry. The Schwab branch team is central to helping clients secure their financial futures. In this role you will deliver financial guidance to clients while building lasting relationships rooted in trust and shared goals. As a Financial Consultant at Schwab, you will work with the existing client base to provide wealth management and financial planning guidance. Over time, you’ll grow your practice holistically through client asset consolidation, networking, and referrals. If you already hold your securities license, prefer a collaborative team environment, and are passionate about serving clients, this opportunity is for you.

Location: New York, NY 10012 (Upper West Side) • Salary range plus eligibility for bonus/incentive opportunities.

Your responsibilities

  • Partner with existing Schwab clients to deliver wealth management and financial planning recommendations.
  • Develop and expand your practice over time through asset consolidation, networking, and client referrals.
  • Collaborate with Schwab specialists and adhere to advice guidelines, leveraging your market knowledge to help clients progress toward their goals.
  • Operate within a supportive, team-focused culture while pursuing ongoing professional development.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • A valid and active FINRA Series 7 license is required.
  • Plan to obtain FINRA Series 66 (63/65) license and Life & Health Insurance during tenure on the job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to build strong relationships, foster trust, engage proactively, deepen client connections through focused communication, and consistently surpass client expectations.
  • Willingness to leverage Schwab’s team of specialists, Schwab advice guidelines, market knowledge, and the ability to inspire action to help clients reach their goals.
  • Openness to manage client wealth across Retirement Planning, Education Planning, Investment Management, Banking & Lending Management, Insurance & Risk Management, and Estate Planning.
  • Ability to adapt and implement change as market conditions and business needs evolve.
  • Passion for community engagement, discussing market conditions, sound investing principles, and long-term wealth strategies tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Desire to deliver an exceptional investor experience while advancing your own professional development in Wealth Management.

Pursuant to SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the NMLS registry system and remain in good standing. You will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process.
