What You'll Be Doing
Within Stifel’s Venture Banking Team, a Vice President or Senior Vice President plays a key role in supporting a regional portfolio of technology companies. The role requires leveraging the firm’s banking and corporate platform to lead debt processes and provide a tailored banking experience for entrepreneurs and their businesses. You will engage with senior leaders inside and outside the organization to gauge technology and capital trends and how they influence the companies we support. The ideal candidate will have experience with venture-backed technology firms, a strong network to build relationships, and the ability to advise technology companies and their investors.
What We're Looking For
- Maintain a portfolio of technology company clients with ongoing management and effectively deploy Stifel resources to support them.
- Lead deal processes, including loan underwriting, loan documentation, and closing.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the venture capital ecosystem and the firm’s products and services.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem, including venture capitalists, founders, executives, and industry advisors.
- Attend, and when appropriate, curate industry events to represent Stifel and expand our network connections.
What You'll Bring
- Advanced knowledge in venture lending, underwriting, and portfolio management.
- Understanding of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, venture banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Interest in technology trends, key metrics, and capital markets influencing the innovation ecosystem.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership skills to coach, develop, and retain team members.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or equivalent experience.
- Minimum Required: 3+ years' of relevant experience in venture banking, commercial banking, investment banking, or private capital investing.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Compensation Range
Salary: USD 150,000.00 per year to USD 200,000.00 per year. Actual salaries may vary based on qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifel’s overall compensation package.
