Treasury Management Officer
Job Description
Role
The Treasury Management Officer (TMO) is charged with cultivating and overseeing relationships with commercial clients to deliver treasury solutions that optimize cash flow, reduce risk, and enhance operational efficiency. The TMO collaborates with internal teams and external clients to assess needs, craft solutions, and ensure effective implementation of treasury products and services.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- 35% Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for treasury services for commercial and business clients. Conduct client needs assessments and recommend suitable treasury solutions. Maintain strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- 30% Sales & Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities within existing and prospective client portfolios. Collaborate with relationship managers and other banking professionals to cross-sell treasury products. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to clients.
- 10% Product Expertise & Implementation: Demonstrate deep knowledge of treasury products including ACH, wire transfers, remote deposit capture, lockbox, fraud prevention tools, and liquidity management solutions. Oversee onboarding and implementation of treasury services, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Provide training and support to clients and internal partners on treasury platforms and tools.
- 10% Risk & Compliance: Ensure all treasury activities comply with internal policies, banking regulations, and industry standards. Monitor client activity for potential fraud or operational risk and escalate as necessary.
- 10% Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with operations, IT, and compliance teams to resolve client issues and improve service delivery. Track sales performance, client feedback, and market trends to inform strategy.
- 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.

- Adhere to the bank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics in all duties.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer information and other sensitive data.
- Complete required training and pursue additional training as needed to increase job knowledge and maximize productivity.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of the bank's financial services and awareness of competitors' offerings.
- Meet assigned new business development targets in terms of volume or value.
- Respond to telephone messages within four hours.
- Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance at all times.
- Generate required reports within the specified time frame with zero errors.
- Provide direction and recommendations to management regarding business development strategies.
- Develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with department and branch staff.
- Acquire and maintain working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures; comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and other laws and regulations.
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience: Five to eight years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A bachelor's degree, or achievement of industry certifications recognized as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (for example information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
- Interpersonal Skills: Significant personal contact with others inside and outside the organization for conflict resolution, relationship building, and cooperation. Requires discretion and diplomacy in communication.
- Other Skills: Solid understanding of the Treasury Management industry and competitive landscape. Strong communication, analytical and curious mindset. Proficient with Microsoft Office and bank software. Self-starter with the ability to motivate peers and influence partners to achieve shared goals.
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent movement within the office to interact with colleagues and clients, and the regular use of office equipment. The role involves continuous computer use and operation of other office productivity devices such as calculators, copiers, and printers.
Work Environment
The role is based in a professional office setting and may require travel to branches and other locations. Standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used.
