Job Description
Overview
The role oversees the management and administration of select capital markets and specialized agency transactions, including bond issues, corporate escrow accounts, M&A/Exchange and Paying Agent activities, Medium-term Notes, programs, and Commercial Paper Issuing and Paying Agent capacities. It requires strong client service and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage a transaction workload and client relationships while contributing to special projects.
Responsibilities
- Administer day-to-day activities for specialized agency deals such as M&A/Exchange & Paying Agent, Medium-term Notes, programs, and Commercial Paper Issuing & Paying Agent roles.
- Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to support existing client relationships and nurture opportunities for new business.
- Address client inquiries and coordinate with functional partners on any servicing requirements or issues.
- Provide backup coverage to other administrators within the transaction management group.
- Support the client lifecycle from acquisition through initial engagement, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of transactions.
- Assist clients and other transaction stakeholders (bankers, counsel, lenders, noteholders) with day-to-day activities related to their transactions.
- Review and process day-to-day transaction activity.
- Answer inquiries from internal and external Agency & Trust clients in connection with transactions.
- Adhere to A&T/Citi policies and procedures for client onboarding, deal implementation, account opening, and deal maintenance.
- Coordinate with Operations for transaction setup, activity, and reporting; handle inquiries from clients and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate commitment to the bank's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, applying ethical judgment, and escalating and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Participate in routine client calls with existing and prospective Agency & Trust customers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years of Corporate Trust or comparable relevant experience in corporate banking.
- Proven experience in deal implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Solid knowledge of Corporate Trust concepts.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex Corporate Trust legal documents.
- Capacity to manage a diverse set of internal and external demands.
- Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines or adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Analytical and influencing skills with clear written and verbal communication.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; Master’s degree is preferred.
