Employer: First Financial Federal Credit Union of Maryland

Location: Hybrid remote in Lutherville, MD 21093; in-office presence required at the Lutherville Timonium Branch with the option for a hybrid schedule after a probationary period. This is a full-time, exempt role.

Role overview

This full-time, exempt position combines advanced financial planning with investment advisory duties across experience levels I–III. You will deliver customized guidance to individual clients, support asset growth, and contribute to the firm’s wealth management operations. The role reports through Financial Dimensions LLC and is based in Lutherville, with hybrid work flexibility after probation.

  • Department: Financial Dimensions LLC
  • Reports To: Tax Practice Lead and Office Manager; CUSO Head of Investments/Chief Compliance Officer for IAR

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored, client-focused financial plans aligned with the firm’s guidelines
  • Mentor and guide other advisors in client meetings and plan preparation
  • Perform investment selection, trading, financial reporting, and related back-office tasks
  • Lead meetings, presentations, and introductory sessions to recruit new clients
  • Grow and retain assets under management (AUM)
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to provide comprehensive wealth management services
  • Contribute to the firm’s operations and strategic planning efforts
  • Assist with oversight of RIA compliance requirements
  • Act as a producing agent for insurance products offered by partner carriers
  • Collaborate with senior tax advisors on client strategy aspects of tax preparation services
  • Adhere to all regulatory and internal policies, including Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Information Security, SEC, IRS, and Maryland requirements

Experience

Minimum of four years advising individual clients on investments, retirement planning, and tax considerations, with a proven track record of client service and asset growth. Level I requires 4–8 years of experience; Levels II and III call for progressively greater experience and demonstrated client growth.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a quantitative field is required.

Licenses and certifications

  • Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65) registration or immediate availability to become registered is required
  • CPA, EA, CFP, CFA, or on track to complete within six months is highly desirable and may be required for entry or advancement to Levels II and III
  • Life and health insurance producer licensing in Maryland, Pennsylvania, or other states with reciprocity is desirable
  • Property and casualty insurance licensing is a plus
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the listed requirements

Duties and duties guidance

  • Provide customized financial planning aligned with client needs and firm guidelines
  • Guide and mentor peers in client meetings and financial plan preparation
  • Oversee investment selection, trading, reporting, and related back-office tasks
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to recruit new clients
  • Responsible for retaining and expanding assets under management
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients and team members
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning
  • Support RIA compliance requirements
  • Work as a producing agent for insurance products
  • Collaborate with senior tax professionals on tax strategy components of services
  • Uphold regulatory and organizational policies, including BSA, Fair Lending, Information Security, and applicable SEC/IRS/MD regulations

Compliance and regulatory awareness

Maintain awareness and adherence to all relevant regulations and internal policies, including Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Information Security, and those of the SEC, IRS, and the State of Maryland.

Compensation and schedule

Salary range: $84,600 – $167,500 per year. The role is primarily salary-based with potential for a team performance bonus.

Work schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.; Tuesday 8:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. (in-office during probation with hybrid options thereafter).
