Overview

Join TrustBank as a Senior Trust and Wealth Advisor within our Wealth Management department. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Chief Wealth Strategist and supports a dynamic wealth management team focused on delivering goals-based planning to high-income and high-net-worth individuals and families. You will collaborate with client service colleagues to integrate service delivery, engage with professional advisors to elevate TrustBank’s brand, lead efforts to acquire new clients, and nurture existing relationships. Location is Wheaton, Illinois 60187, primarily serving the DuPage County and Chicago Market, and the role supports our Growing Prosperity Together mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advisory relationships with clients and collect information about their financial circumstances and goals.
  • Analyze overall personal finances, including complex retirement and estate plans, investments, taxes, insurance, cash flow, cash management, and budgets.
  • Determine client objectives, risk tolerance, and capital needs.
  • Counsel clients on general financial forecasts and trends.
  • Craft sophisticated goals-based wealth plans aligned to client objectives and consult with clients and other specialists on pathways forward.
  • Facilitate implementation of wealth plans based on client direction.
  • Collaborate with client’s other advisors and TrustBank partners to deliver coordinated wealth planning services.
  • Review account relationships and coordinate with wealth management team members to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Lead the sales process in assigned markets and identify opportunities to expand client relationships.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of best practices in financial planning services.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on ongoing client relationship maintenance.
  • Develop marketing materials and plans and deliver marketing presentations.
  • Support TrustBank wealth planning thought leadership by contributing resources for marketing and educational materials.
  • Engage with professional advisor networks, including attending conferences and building relationships with professional advisors.
  • Operate with independence and a deep knowledge of the business unit and function; perform cross-functional and technically challenging activities.
  • Balance high level operational execution with the development and execution of strategic direction for the function.
  • Conduct preliminary analyses and interact with committees and management as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and administer programs within functional areas and perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Working Conditions

The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Primary work location is in the DuPage County / Chicago Market. Additional hours may be required as needed. The work environment involves long periods of sitting at a computer, with a moderate noise level and well-lit office. Daily duties may require standing, walking, and using hands to handle objects and controls. The role may involve reaching with arms, speaking and hearing, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Some tasks may be repetitive, and there is direct engagement with the public.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $121,900 to $262,000, including incentives. This range reflects compensation across our markets and actual pay will vary based on role responsibilities, applicable skills, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for an incentive compensation plan tied to individual performance. Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of sophisticated income tax planning, retirement planning, estate planning, investment and asset allocation, risk management, and cash flow planning, typically gained through extensive related work experience.
  • Effective communicator and collaborative professional.
  • Requires a university or college degree in finance, economics, or related fields.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills to identify, research, and resolve requests while managing multiple priorities.
  • Solid understanding of general financial principles to service and communicate with high net worth clients.
  • Ability to stay current with financial software and applications and to understand how technology supports the role and TrustBank’s servicing standards.

Technical Skills

Proficiency with Salesforce, eMoney, MS Office Suite, Excel for data analysis, planning software, and report preparation.
