Role overview
Wells Fargo is looking for a Senior Branch Premier Banker (SAFE) within Consumer Banking and Lending, part of Branch Banking. After completing the necessary licensing and SAFE registration, the position will transition to the Senior Branch Premier Banker (SAFE) role. The profile below provides a general view of responsibilities; actual duties may vary by branch and by individual, based on experience, client mix, services offered, and client needs.
In this role you will:
- Actively pursue new affluent consumer and small business clients while deepening existing relationships through outreach and scheduled appointments
- Review and resolve moderately complex customer concerns by applying discretionary resolution protocols
- Escalate banking issues or business risks that require thorough evaluation
- Advise customers on suitable financial options and available services
- Maintain extensive knowledge of Wells Fargo banking, credit, and investment solutions
- Identify client needs and goals for business, mortgage, retirement, and investment services, partnering with Business Banking Advisory Services, Mortgage, and Wealth and Investment Management to address those needs while considering the client’s overall financial situation
- Understand and manage risk by following policies, procedures, controls, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Collect information from customers regarding income, assets, investments, and credit; analyze data to develop customized plans highlighting Wells Fargo options
- Build relationships with branch colleagues, affluent customers, and partners to acquire, deepen, retain relationships, and help customers succeed financially
- Exercise independent judgment in managing client relationships through regular meetings to review financial condition and goals, offering advice on banking services and options as circumstances change
- Be an active member of the branch team, guiding other staff on developing relationships and addressing moderately complex to complex client needs
Note: This SAFE position involves customer contact and duties that may include offering or negotiating terms and/or accepting applications for dwelling secured transactions. Compliance with the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations is required. Ongoing employment depends on meeting these requirements, including satisfactory background checks. Individuals in SAFE roles must also meet Loan Origination requirements under Regulation Z as outlined in the job expectations below. Employees who are not fully licensed at hire will participate in the Branch Banking Licensed Banker licensing program as a Senior Branch Premier Banker LP (SAFE), a temporary placement until licensing is completed. Upon successful licensing, they will transition to the Senior Branch Premier Banker (SAFE) role.
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of customer service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education
- 3+ years of experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and partners
- 3+ years of experience recommending products and services
Desired qualifications
- Experience in the financial services industry across corporate, consumer, mortgage, investments, brokerage, or private banking
- History of recommending financial services products and services
- Successfully completed FINRA Series 6 and 63 exams (or recognized equivalents) to qualify for immediate registration
- State Insurance license(s)
- 3+ years of experience in a licensed financial services position
- Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems
- Proactive ability to source, acquire, build, and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of book of business processes to actively manage Wells Fargo customers and grow the business
- Understanding of Branch Banking compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations
- Ability to educate customers and connect them to technology and self-service digital banking options
- Experience applying business acumen to provide financial services consulting for small business customers
- Knowledge of consumer lending products
- Professional integrity and strong interpersonal conduct with customers and colleagues
- High motivation to meet team objectives while maintaining individual performance
- Experience mentoring and peer coaching others
Job expectations
- Ability to work a schedule that may include most Saturdays
- Adherence to Wells Fargo sales practices and risk management culture
- Current FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 registrations (or equivalents) required, or must be completed within a specified period
- For certain states, FINRA Series 65 (or equivalent) required within a specified period; states include AK, AL, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WY
- Wyoming allows referral-only licensed bankers to receive IAR registration without completing Series 65/66; state list subject to change
- State Insurance licenses are required and must be completed within a specified period
- Licensing requirements and completion timelines will be communicated upon offer acceptance
- Obtaining and maintaining the appropriate FINRA licenses is required for ongoing employment in this role
