What is the opportunity?
As an Enterprise Risk leader, you will design and implement RBC Bank’s risk management reporting, systems, and processes to mitigate enterprise-wide risks. This role resides within Group Risk Management – RBC Bank Risk Management and is tasked with overseeing the RBC Bank Chief Risk Officer Report / Enterprise Risk Report and risk reporting to the RBC Bank Board and its committees. You will play a central role in ensuring that risk reporting to the Board aligns with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

What will you do?
- Support the Enterprise Risk Appetite Framework, Limits Policy, and governance processes across the first and second lines of defense.
- Plan, facilitate, and conduct assessments of enterprise risk metrics across the bank for all risk areas—Credit, Market, Liquidity, Strategic, and others.
- Develop and enhance enterprise-wide governance, policies, and procedures.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of the RBC Bank CRO Report to the Risk Committee of the RBC Bank Board, collaborating with risk contributors to ensure clear messaging and sufficient reporting.
- Coordinate with the RBC Bank Enterprise Risk Management Committee secretary to ensure proper coordination and escalation of materials to the Board.
- Provide effective challenge on risk materials presented to the RBC Bank Board and its Committees.
- Drive day-to-day Core Team activities to meet project milestones and keep functions on track.
- Stay current on regulatory developments, industry best practices, and leading trends in risk management.
- Regularly prepare status reports, performance metrics, presentations, and enterprise-wide guidance in line with the ERM program and financial industry regulations; respond to ad-hoc requests from management.
- Respond to regulatory, Internal Audit, and external survey requests as required (for example, Federal Reserve, OCC, DTCC, etc.).
- Provide review and challenge of 1LoD activities and committee reporting.
- Support Enterprise Risk transformation, remediation, and escalation activities.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a Risk Management role within a Financial Services organization.
- Proven ability to think critically and drive change through collaborative effort.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of risk management and governance standards and processes at management and board levels.
- Extensive experience with reporting, analysis, and presentation tools including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- General knowledge of key risk disciplines across all major risk areas (Credit, Market, Liquidity, Strategic, etc.).
Nice-to-have
- Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related field or Risk Management certification (for example, FRM).
- Experience developing processes and controls related to Heightened Standards or Reg YY.
- 3+ years of experience with risk areas, KPIs, and KRIs.
- 3+ years of experience in project management or leadership roles.
