Role Overview
The Senior Manager for Credit and Operational Accounting leads a team responsible for underwriting and monitoring credit lines for fuel products trading counterparties, including Gulf Inc. and RaceTrac’s wholesale fuel subsidiary. This role conducts and oversees credit analyses for each counterparty and drives the credit approval process. In addition, the position oversees daily reporting and forecasting on credit line utilization to ensure appropriate credit is extended for fuel purchases.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the credit analysis and credit approval process for Metroplex counterparties.
- Provide and develop meaningful reporting and analysis related to settlements and credit.
- Manage the Metroplex Settlement teams to ensure inventory is reconciled and AR and AP transactions are settled accurately, including both bulk and rack transactions.
- Ensure the team reconciles and closes inventory timely and accurately at month end.
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately reflected in the financial records. Provide guidance for new or non-routine inventory transactions to ensure the financial transactions are complete and in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure all payments for wholesale purchases are reviewed and approved.
- Help to support the professional development of Metroplex team members.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, such as front office, tax, and RPI accounting.
- Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed.
- Assist in developing solutions to financial and operational processes for inventory functions, policies, and procedures.
- Actively participate in and communicate the strategic vision of the Metroplex accounting department as well as company-wide initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 8+ years experience in wholesale fuel credit function.
- Banking, underwriting, or commercial trade credit background preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel required.
- Commercial bulk commodities experience preferred.
- Moody’s or other S&P credit software experience a plus.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Advanced experience using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
