Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advisory solutions for assigned clients and align internal resources to execute these solutions
  • Prepare financial plans for pre-retirees and retirees, covering asset allocation, spending and savings strategies, Social Security, and related areas
  • Remain current on market developments and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on planning topics to advise clients and prospects
  • Suggest and participate in program upgrades and future enhancements; support the rollout of new capabilities in investment advice, financial planning, and education
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, assess existing policies, and collaborate with peers and management to propose changes
  • Support departmental development and implementation initiatives as needed
  • Maintain high client satisfaction for complex Advisory Services solutions and deepen relationships through ongoing personalized guidance and recommendations
  • Collaborate with less experienced peers to determine effective approaches for addressing client dissatisfaction
  • Assess clients’ risk tolerance and align it with appropriate advice solutions while ensuring compliance; may address standard risk or compliance issues with assistance from senior staff
  • Occasionally supervise a small advisory team, providing guidance, feedback, and performance evaluation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, plus at least 5+ years of total relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to build relationships, uncover client needs, and recommend effective solutions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66, or 63/65, licenses required upon hire
  • CFP designation – Required for this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of experience in financial services offering investment management
  • Exceptional listening and presentation skills
  • Strong interest in quickly learning and applying new financial tools, technologies, and client conversation expectations
  • Deep understanding of retail investment vehicles
  • Experience building and/or managing a retail client book of business
  • Background working with high-net-worth clients in relationship management or advisory roles

Licensing and Compliance

FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role.

Work Arrangement

This position is eligible for hybrid work with up to one day per week from home.

Compensation

Base salary ranges vary by location and are listed as follows: 98,500 to 146,000 for Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers; 98,500 to 146,000 for Washington, D.C.; and 98,500 to 146,000 for New York and California. Placement within the range is determined by the candidate’s relevant experience and skills. Base salary is only one component of total compensation, with the potential for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
