Job Description
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Equipment Finance Underwriter to join the Equipment Finance team within Commercial Bank. The role is based in Chicago, IL with a hybrid schedule, combining in-office and remote work. This position supports a customer-centric approach as part of Wells Fargo's ongoing efforts to strengthen the business and risk controls.
What you will do
- Lead or participate in research to assess the creditworthiness of moderately complex commercial or business loan and lease requests within Equipment Finance Underwriting
- Review and evaluate moderately complex loan and lease requests that require in-depth analysis
- Perform periodic reviews on assigned portfolio credits and maintain risk ratings and related data in systems of record
- Approve loans or leases within delegated credit authority and recommend transactions beyond that authority as appropriate
- Collaborate with Equipment Finance Underwriting peers, colleagues, and middle managers to meet business objectives
- Partner with internal and external business associates to collect information needed for informed decision making
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Equipment Finance Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
Desired Qualifications
- Experience underwriting within the transportation industry
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or related field
- Experience underwriting transactions and exposures exceeding $1 million
- Financial analysis experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Job expectations and eligibility
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Hybrid work arrangement: four days in the office and one day remote

Compensation and benefits
Pay ranges vary by location. For Chicago, Illinois, the base pay range is $110,000 to $179,000 USD annually, and a similar range applies in Minneapolis, MN. The posted base range is a component of the total compensation package and may vary based on factors such as achievements, skills, experience, and work location. Total rewards may include additional forms of compensation such as sales incentives and equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units, depending on the role.
