Role Overview
In the Institutional Retirement Income Solutions team, the Senior Associate will help drive growth across two strategic segments: Defined Contribution Retirement Income and Pension Risk Transfer. This position sits at the crossroads of product strategy, market intelligence, and business development, offering the chance to influence how retirement security is delivered to plan sponsors and participants. You will support key strategic initiatives, strengthen competitive positioning, and contribute to expanding New York Life’s footprint in the institutional retirement market. An analytical mindset and collaborative approach will be essential as you advance the team’s mission.
What You'll Do
- Support Pension Risk Transfer product management activities, including pricing coordination, case support, process improvement efforts, and guiding internal and external discussions to ensure successful transaction execution.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic positioning and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop financial models and analytical frameworks to evaluate opportunities and support informed decision-making.
- Assist in preparing materials for partnership discussions, client presentations, and internal leadership meetings.
- Support outreach to advisors and consultants to raise awareness of New York Life's retirement income solutions.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics across DC and PRT markets.
- Collaborate with distribution, operations, legal, and actuarial teams to advance strategic priorities.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives that drive growth for the Institutional Retirement Income business.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; advantageous fields include business, mathematics, economics, finance, actuarial science, or related areas with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- 3+ years of professional experience, ideally within financial services, asset management, insurance, or retirement-related sectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable building models and delivering executive-ready presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and a desire to learn about retirement products, markets, and competitive dynamics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in retirement, annuities, or institutional markets is a plus but not required.
- Candidates must be willing to obtain Life/Accident/Health insurer licensing credentials.
Pay Transparency and Benefits
Salary range: $90,000–$115,500
Overtime eligibility: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligibility: Yes
Sales bonus eligibility: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and may participate in incentive programs in addition to base pay.
Location and Schedule
Hybrid work arrangement with in-office presence in Jersey City, New Jersey. Role location designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week.
