Senior Accountant

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close. This role will manage core accounting functions across multiple accounts and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting. This is a 6-month contract role, with a possibility for extension. The company works on a hybrid schedule in Costa Mesa, CA 92626.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with financial statements and audit support
• Support cash management activities and reporting
• Review and approve invoices and ensure proper coding
• Maintain documentation and support internal controls
• Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with accounting systems/ERPs
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role is determined by a range of factors including the candidate’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
