Senior Accountant

Overview

A leading global consumer products company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. This high impact role operates in a lean, fast paced environment, offering broad visibility across multiple business units and exposure to core financial operations. Location: New York, NY.

Compensation

Base salary: $110,000 to $120,000; plus a 5% annual bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close by preparing journal entries, accruals, and prepaids
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Analyze large volumes of financial data within Excel and ERP systems
• Execute allocations across multiple business units and divisions
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and capitalization
• Collaborate with FP&A and various business units to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, with preference for corporate accounting or GL roles
• Solid understanding of month-end close processes
• Hands-on experience with accruals and prepaids
• Hands-on experience with balance sheet reconcilations
• Hands-on experience with financial data analysis
• Advanced Excel skills required, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS; ability to handle large data sets
• Experience in a mid-to-large size company environment, with a preference for candidates with complex, multi-entity structures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
