We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to strengthen our finance team. Duties
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee general ledger activities, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely processing in line with company policies.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify data accuracy and promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare regulatory reports and support external audits by providing detailed documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Implement and maintain internal controls aligned with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance to protect company assets.
- Carry out cash management duties, including forecasting cash flow needs, monitoring bank transactions, and optimizing liquidity.
- Support budgeting processes through financial analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting to assist strategic planning.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical accounting issues related to nonprofit accounting, governmental accounting, or public accounting standards as needed.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports that clearly communicate findings and support decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Extensive experience in corporate accounting with strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
- Proven expertise in general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, double-entry bookkeeping, and related processes.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; proficiency in financial management tools is essential.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and governmental accounting practices is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing detailed financial reports and collaborating across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
