Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract position with potential for permanent placement. Our client is a well established leader in the entertainment business.

Role Details

  • Location: Mundelein, IL 60060. This is a long term temporary, hybrid role.
  • Engagement: Hybrid work arrangement based in Mundelein, IL.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, hybrid.
  • Pay Rate: Starting at $40 per hour.
  • Potential for permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle General Ledger process, ensuring the accuracy of financial data
  • Independently execute complete month-end close procedures without supervision
  • Perform high-volume, multi-entity bank and intercompany reconciliations
  • Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented
  • Meet all closing deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Complete complex account reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Research and resolve discrepancies and outstanding items
  • Maintain detailed documentation of reconciliation processes
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and company policies

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of senior level accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Inventory and fixed asset experience is a plus

Technical Requirements

  • Mandatory ERP experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
