Job Summary
The Retirement Plan Manager provides high touch support to Norwood Economics' 401(k) and Cash Balance clients. The role guides Plan Sponsors in meeting their plan administration duties, tracks pending deadlines, assists with annual education, coordinates with TPAs and Recordkeepers, offers secondary support to plan participants after the Recordkeeper, and helps onboard new clients. This position also provides limited support to sales and compliance functions.
Responsibilities
- New Client Onboarding: Collaborate with the TPA and Recordkeeper to implement or convert new plans. Assist the sales team in confirming plan design.
- Client Education: Customize and deliver enrollment meetings, annual education sessions, and topical webinars.
- Plan Sponsor Services: Monitor client deadlines; remind, support, and educate plan sponsors to meet requirements. Coordinate with TPAs and Recordkeepers to answer administration questions. Facilitate Investment Committee Meetings.
- Participant Services: Direct participants to the correct resources (Recordkeeper, TPA, Plan Sponsor). Provide occasional secondary support to client participants. Create How-to guides for common questions.
- Additional Administrative Services: Provide extra plan sponsor administrative support for clients electing enhanced services.
- Sales Support: As time allows, assist sales with benchmarks and proposal generation.
- Compliance: Work with the team to support annual ERISA and state compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in retirement plan support services.
- Series 65 license strongly preferable; if not held, must be obtained within six months.
- Highly customer service oriented.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software and equipment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
