Join Wells Fargo as a Senior Branch Premier Banker SAFE within Consumer Banking and Lending in Branch Banking. After completing the required licensing and SAFE registration, you will transition to the Senior Branch Premier Banker SAFE role. This position is based in Sacramento, CA 95816. What you will do

In this role you will proactively pursue new affluent consumer and small business clients while deepening relationships with existing ones. You will address moderately complex customer concerns using established resolution protocols, escalate issues that require thorough evaluation, and advise clients on suitable financial options and services. You will maintain strong knowledge of Wells Fargo banking, credit, and investment solutions and collaborate with peers in Business Banking Advisory Services, Mortgage, and Wealth and Investment Management to meet clients' identified goals. You will assess client needs related to business, mortgage, retirement, and investments, and apply independent judgment to manage relationships through regular reviews of financial conditions and objectives. You will work as a contributing member of the branch team, guiding colleagues in developing relationships and addressing moderately complex to complex client needs.

  • Proactively cultivate new affluent consumer and small business clients and deepen existing relationships through outreach and scheduled meetings
  • Review and resolve moderately complex customer concerns by applying discretionary resolution protocols
  • Escalate banking issues or business risks that require in-depth evaluation
  • Advise customers on available financial options and services aligned with their goals
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Wells Fargo banking, credit, and investment solutions and services
  • Identify client needs for business, mortgage, retirement, and investment services and partner with specialists to fulfill those needs
  • Understand and manage risk by following policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Collect financial information from customers and analyze it to create customized plans
  • Build relationships with branch colleagues, affluent clients, and partners to acquire, deepen, and retain relationships
  • Exercise independent judgment to manage client relationships through regular meetings and ongoing guidance
  • Contribute to the branch team by coaching others on relationship development and handling complex client needs

This SAFE role involves customer contact and may include offering or negotiating terms or taking applications for dwelling secured transactions. Compliance with the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations is required. Ongoing employment depends on meeting all requirements, including acceptable background results. Individuals in this role must also meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z as described in the job expectations.

Licensing and regulatory requirements

Upon hire, licensing and SAFE registration are required to transition from the LP SAFE program to the Senior Branch Premier Banker SAFE role. FINRA registrations (Series 6 and Series 63) are required and must be current or completed within the specified period. For certain new qualifications obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co‑requisite is required. In some states, a Series 65 (or equivalent) will also be required within a defined period. State insurance licenses are required and must be completed within a specified period. Licensing timelines and requirements will be communicated upon offer acceptance. Maintaining FINRA licenses is necessary for ongoing employment, and additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness criteria.

Required qualifications

  • 4+ years of customer service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education
  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and partners
  • 3+ years of experience recommending products and services

Desired qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry across corporate, consumer, mortgage, investments, brokerage, or private banking
  • Experience recommending financial services products and services
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 6 and 63 exams (or recognized equivalents) to qualify for immediate registration
  • State Insurance license(s)
  • 3+ years of experience in a licensed financial services role
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to handle complex transactions across multiple systems
  • Proven ability to proactively source, acquire, build, and maintain client relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Understanding of book of business processes to actively manage a Wells Fargo client base
  • Knowledge of Branch Banking compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to educate customers about technology and promote self-service digital banking options
  • Experience using business acumen to advise small business clients on financial services
  • Knowledge of consumer lending products
  • Professional integrity and strong, respectful interaction with clients and colleagues
  • High motivation to achieve team goals while sustaining personal performance
  • Experience mentoring and peer coaching others

Job expectations

  • Schedule may include most Saturdays
  • Adherence to Wells Fargo sales practices and risk management culture
  • Current registration for FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 is required or must be completed within the specified period. For certain exams completed after 9/30/2018, the SIE co-requisite is required
  • In specific states, Series 65 (or equivalent) must be completed within a defined period: AK, AL, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WY. Wyoming allows referral-only IAR registration without Series 65/66. State requirements are subject to change
  • State insurance licenses are required and must be completed within a specified period
  • Licensing requirements and completion timelines depend on the number of licenses needed and will be communicated with the offer
