Nonprofit Director of Finance and Operations

Job Description

Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP) is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to support its nonprofit initiatives in the Bronx. ADAPP has served children, adults, and families across schools, parishes, and communities within the Archdiocese of New York for more than five decades, delivering prevention, counseling, and educational programs addressing alcohol and other substances. This is a full-time, exempt role with benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Oversee financial reporting and accounting processes in compliance with nonprofit GAAP standards.
  • Ensure compliance with NYS Consolidated Fiscal Reporting System (CFRS), NYS Consolidated Budget Report (CBR), and state and federal grant regulations.
  • Supervise administrative and operational areas, including human resources, IT, facilities, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with the Archdiocese of New York Department of Education Finance Department regarding cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and operations teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Archdiocese risk management team to ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance & Audit Committee, presenting financial updates and insights.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, automation, and operational processes to enhance efficiency.

Non-Negotiables

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in finance or operations
  • Experience working within a nonprofit organization
  • Experience with grant accounting
  • Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with NYS CFRS, NYS CBR, and government grant reporting
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and Lawson

Compensation

Salary: $100,000 - $105,000

Pay: Up to $105,000.00 per year
