What you’ll do on a typical day
- Act as the multi-site finance leader for a new operation, participating in meetings with operations and the customer to stay informed about upcoming business changes and incorporating those insights into the forecast.
- Collaborate with operations and the customer to drive performance against financial targets and assess the financial impact of potential projects.
- Maintain timely preparation and distribution of internal and customer-facing reports.
- Respond to inquiries from customers and operations for financial data and analysis.
- Design, prepare, and maintain forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses for both customer-facing and internal purposes on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Ensure invoices for customers are prepared accurately and delivered on time.
- Set up invoice templates, queries, and/or manual processes for collecting invoice data.
- Coordinate internal tracking mechanisms, including project codes and work centers, as needed for billing and proper cost accounting to support facility operations.
What you need to succeed at GXO
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or an equivalent combination of relevant work or military experience
- 5 years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, accounting, and/or budgeting
- Solid knowledge of Oracle Projects, Snowflake, PowerBI, and EPBCS
- Experience evaluating internal control systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytics software; ability to gather data from multiple sources and build meaningful models
Additional qualifications
- MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA or other applicable professional designation
- Strong Excel skills, including consolidating large datasets and performing comparative analysis
- Experience working with large databases and writing SQL queries
- Experience with the Microsoft analytics toolset
- Management experience
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma concepts and/or certifications
- Excellent time management, organization, and interpersonal skills
