Lead Financial Systems Developer

The Lead Financial Systems Developer role is a hybrid position based in our Kansas City, Missouri office (ZIP 64108). This role provides research, design, development, implementation and integration of financial systems to support the firm’s finance and accounting functions. The position requires architecting, analyzing, designing, testing, implementing, troubleshooting and maintaining both new and existing financial applications, while maintaining balance and coherence between Finance and Accounting applications and the existing IT infrastructure. The primary data source is 3E. You will collaborate with Financial and Pricing Analysts to develop reports using Power BI and SSRS, and deliver data integration by consolidating data across legacy, new development, and purchased package environments tailored for the legal industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide research, design, development, implementation and integration of financial systems to support the firm’s finance and accounting functions.
• Architect, analyze, design, test, implement, troubleshoot and maintain new and existing financial applications.
• Maintain balance and system coherency between Finance and Accounting applications and the existing IT infrastructure.
• Understand the SQL table structures of the various Finance and Accounting software systems needed to develop reporting and ad-hoc queries. Primary data source is 3E.
• Collaborate with Financial and Pricing Analysts to develop reports using Power BI and SSRS.
• Deliver data integration by integrating data shared across legacy, new development, and purchased package environments specialized for the legal industry.
• Study data sources by analyzing and identifying the relationship among data objects.
• Develop and modify SQL functions and stored procedures to extract, transform and load data.
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of SSAS and SSIS and train those in your reporting line.
• Exercise appropriate discretion and sound judgment in the execution of the above duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, Power Platform, Azure Cloud, and the .NET Framework; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures and/or law firm operations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including creating and utilizing spreadsheets as well as accounting system applications.
• Must have advanced Excel spreadsheet experience.
