Job Description

Role Overview

Join the Investment Grade Finance (IGF) group as an Analyst and operate as an embedded member of a collaborative team with a flat structure that enables direct client interaction alongside Managing Directors, Executive Directors, and Vice Presidents. The IGF team is charged with originating, structuring, and executing syndicated bank facilities, bond issuances, and liability-management transactions. J.P. Morgan is a leader in Investment Grade Finance, delivering strategic guidance and execution across industries and regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor global rate and credit market movements and assess their impact on clients’ debt portfolios and funding strategies.
  • Analyze market data, investment-grade deal flow, and thematic events to provide insights to internal teams and external clients.
  • Prepare client pitches addressing capital needs and financing options.
  • Participate in the structuring and marketing of bond and loan issuances, as well as loan amendments and liability-management activities.
  • Coordinate with investment banking coverage and interest-rate/FX risk management to deliver comprehensive corporate-finance and capital-structure solutions.
  • Develop industry-specific knowledge of the client base and stay aware of key decision makers (e.g., CFOs, Treasurers, Capital Markets Directors).
  • Maintain direct dialogue with client coverage officers, debt and equity partners, and banking syndicate teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in investment banking or equivalent, including experience at a Big 4 firm (e.g., Ernst & Young, PwC) in Transaction/Tax Advisory and Diligence; Financial Services Advisory; or Audit Services.
  • Strong accounting, finance, quantitative, and business-writing skills.
  • Familiarity with the banking regulatory landscape and current industry trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication abilities to interact effectively with senior professionals, clients, and stakeholders across lines of business.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with excellent organizational skills and the capacity to multi-task across multiple deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) designations are advantageous.
