Interim Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Jefferson Wells is supporting a manufacturing client by adding a contract Senior Accountant Consultant to assist the accounting team during a critical transition. The role focuses on core accounting operations to preserve the accuracy and integrity of financial records while a permanent hire is sought. The assignment starts immediately and is planned for 2-3 months, with the possibility of converting to a full-time position for contract consultants.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio 44124

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations
• Manage cash application activities, ensuring timely and accurate postings
• Oversee invoicing processes, including preparation, review, and issue resolution
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close tasks as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit requests
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accounting accuracy and streamline workflows
• Provide process insights and recommend improvements where applicable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (senior-level preferred)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices
• Experience with account reconciliations, cash application, and invoicing functions
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to start immediately and work effectively with limited onboarding time
• Strong communication and organizational skills
