Position overview

The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) invites qualified applicants for a Housing Finance Officer in Management Services. This role blends portfolio management with team leadership within the Asset Management Section of the Multifamily Programs Division. The position offers a salary range of $8,630.00 to $10,747.00 per month, with new state hires placed at the minimum of the classification or the minimum of any applicable alternate range.

Working conditions and location

Hybrid telework schedules are available, at CalHFA’s discretion based on operational needs. In-person attendance is required weekly. The office is located at 500 Capitol Mall, a downtown Sacramento high-rise with convenient access to public transit and major freeways. It is adjacent to Downtown Commons (DOCO) and the Golden 1 Center, with on-site gym access for employees.

Agency and division information

CalHFA has maintained Great Place To Work certification since 2021. The Multifamily Programs Division oversees the financing and ongoing management of CalHFA’s multifamily lending portfolio and subsidy programs. The Asset Management Section handles the Agency’s portfolio of multifamily loans, including financial reviews, physical inspections, monitoring for regulatory compliance, and administering rental and operating subsidies.   • Currently in the Housing Finance Officer (Management Services) classification,
  • Eligible for lateral transfer to this classification,
  • Eligible for reinstatement in this classification or a comparable one,
  • Eligible for list or LEAP, or are in the process of obtaining list eligibility,
  • Possessing SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (priority); other candidates may be considered if no SROA or Surplus candidates apply.
