Home Lending Relationship Manager II
Job Description
This role, based in Columbus, Ohio 43219, supports Relationship Managers in Agency Relations by gathering and analyzing data to inform housing policy recommendations for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The objective is to enhance strategic communication with internal partners and government agencies. The long-term growth path includes in-depth knowledge of GSE policy and advancing relationship management skills. As a Relationship Manager II within Agency Relations, you will collaborate with internal and external partners, craft executive communications, prioritize initiatives, and dissect policy, products and programs. You will perform a regular cadence of tasks to support investor confidence, including digesting reports and data, creating executive-level presentations, researching policy questions, scheduling meetings, and providing updates via decks and trackers. You will work with colleagues on strategic initiatives, product implementation, risk management, GSE policy, scorecards, and issue resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Support the needs of Relationship Managers to bolster the firm’s advocacy positions, strategic engagement, and influence with the agencies and trade groups
- Compile performance analysis using Investor scorecards, industry articles, and internal data
- Interpret data and trends to help develop housing policy recommendations
- Create briefing documents to prepare Senior Leaders for engagements with the agencies and trade groups
- Attend meetings to capture top priorities and next steps, including periodic meetings with Agency Relationship Managers and the GSEs to gain deeper knowledge of issues and opportunities
- Examine agency scoring tools for review with Home Lending partners
- Assist in maintaining a strong control environment related to Agency policy, procedures, Investor bulletins/announcements, and other external/internal communications
- Develop and build relationships with internal partners and the trade groups to advocate for change through collaboration
- Review policy changes and prepare comparisons across the agencies in support of advocating for alignment
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac policy requirements
- Work alongside Relationship Managers to gain an understanding of and develop the skills needed to independently manage relationships with the agencies
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3+ years of Home Lending experience and the desire to develop a deep understanding of the housing industry, including originations, servicing and capital markets
- Ability to manage complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs
- Strategic thinker with ability to identify problems and recommend solutions in a thoughtful manner, with diplomacy and professionalism
- Strong communications skills to convey analytical insight and interact with key internal and external partners
- Self-motivated and confident with the ability to demonstrate ownership and drive change through innovation
- Desire to learn and grow for future career mobility opportunities within Agency Relations
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
- Highly collaborative with strong client/partner relationships and communication skills
- Analytical and inquisitive with high standards for quality and accuracy
- Proactive, strong attention to details, acts with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word, competency with PitchPRO+
Education and Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Compensation and Benefits
Chase offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined by role, experience, skill set and location. Eligible roles may include commission-based pay and or discretionary incentive compensation, paid in cash and or forfeitable equity in recognition of individual achievements and contributions.
