Role overview
The Application Developer and Operational Support role will develop and maintain in-house software to automate various aspects of fund operations and data analysis. This position will work directly with users across the organization and should be able to navigate unclear and rapidly changing requirements with limited direction. The role combines development work with ongoing operational support and will include frequent ad hoc analysis projects.

Technology stack and development environment
The primary application stack is a domain driven service oriented lambda architecture based on Java (RMI/JMS) and Postgres with extensive use of Spring and Hibernate. Front end applications were mainly Java web applications and eclipse RCP fat applications. A variety of small utilities and integrations employ a broad spectrum of technologies, APIs, and services local and remote. Python and Excel are widely used for scripting, ad hoc analysis, and communication.
Capabilities and qualifications
- Comfortable navigating a small, dynamic environment with informal direction
- Strong analytic, quantitative, and data engineering capabilities
- Familiarity with common data integration patterns and data formats
- Exposure to common software design patterns
- Hedge fund experience and operational knowledge preferred
- Fixed income and municipal bond knowledge preferred
