Role overview

We are seeking a dedicated Grants Accountant to join our client’s team in Downtown Portland. The position focuses on maintaining precise financial records for grant funded initiatives, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and supporting financial analysis related to grant activities. This is a full-time temporary role lasting six months with hybrid work options, offering a competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for grant funded projects
  • Ensure compliance with grant funding regulations and reporting requirements
  • Process grant related transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense allocations
  • Assist with month end close processes specific to grant accounting
  • Prepare financial reports and statements for grant funded projects
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization
  • Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to monitor grant budgets and expenditures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred, not required
  • 1-2+ years of experience in grant accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of grant funding regulations and compliance requirements is preferred

Pay details

Pay range: $32.00 to $45.00 per hour
