Overview

EP Wealth Advisors (EPWA) is a wealth management advisory firm managing more than $42.2 billion in client assets as of December 31, 2025, primarily serving high net worth individuals. The Financial Planning Manager will guide and develop financial planners across the region, collaborating with advisors to design tailored financial plans for sophisticated clients. This role emphasizes supervising team workflows, delivering training, and ensuring timely delivery of high quality financial plans. Leadership and Team Development

  • Partner with the Regional Director and Associate Director of Financial Planning to manage team workflows, ensure timely plan delivery, and oversee planning coverage. This includes coordinating schedules, approving time off, and ensuring client plans are completed on time.
  • Training Program Development: implement an onboarding program for new regional hires and provide ongoing training for current team members. Regularly check in with new hires to monitor progress and ensure consistent training.
  • Performance Review and Mentorship: conduct performance reviews for the team, with regular check-ins for mentorship, delivering constructive feedback, and supporting professional development. Help team members identify strengths, opportunities for growth, and career development paths.
  • Ongoing Development: continuously improve training materials and processes to ensure team members have the tools and knowledge to excel and deliver exceptional client service.

Client Services and Financial Planning

  • Develop Customized Wealth Strategies: lead the creation of integrated financial plans for high net worth clients with assets of $5 million or more, including advanced tax planning and estate planning. Provide ongoing support to advisors in presenting complex topics, ensuring the firm’s value proposition is clear and well understood.
  • Client Experience: ensure a consistent, high quality financial planning experience across all locations and client interactions.
  • Complex Planning Expertise: stay informed on industry trends, particularly tax law changes, to keep guidance at the forefront of the field.
  • Collaboration with Advisory Teams: work with advisors to align financial planning strategies with clients’ long-term objectives, focusing on enhancing both advisor and client experiences. Collaborate with advisors during prospect meetings to demonstrate the firm’s planning capabilities.
  • Process and Systems Improvement: contribute to ongoing workflow optimization and system enhancements to boost efficiency and client satisfaction. Maintain awareness of industry trends and compliance requirements, especially tax and retirement planning implications.
  • Collaboration for Process Integration: partner with senior leadership to implement new processes across the team, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with firm practices.

Performance Reviews and Career Development

  • Employee Development: conduct semi-annual and annual performance reviews for Associate Directors of Financial Planning, Financial Planning Managers, Senior Financial Planners and Financial Planning Associates, providing constructive feedback and setting development goals.
  • Salary and Bonus Discussions: collaborate with the Regional Director and Managing Director to discuss salary increases and performance bonuses based on feedback, team involvement and quality of advice.
  • Career Pathing and Mentorship: work with team members to identify growth opportunities, strengths and areas for improvement, providing ongoing career coaching to support professional development.
  • Performance Standards: monitor team performance to ensure adherence to department standards and timelines, addressing issues with leadership and implementing Performance Improvement Plans when needed.

Hiring and Recruiting

  • Recruitment Strategy: participate in interviews for Senior Financial Planner, Financial Planning Associate and Financial Planning Intern roles.
  • Team Capacity Management: oversee and enhance the use of Tableau and other tools to manage team capacity, ensuring efficient resource utilization.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Legislative Awareness: stay current on legislation changes such as SECURE Act 2.0 and educate the firm on potential impacts.
  • Software and Process Improvements: evaluate and implement updates to the financial planning tools and software used by the team to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Service Offering Development: lead the creation of new service offerings tailored to the regional client base, expanding the firm’s wealth management capabilities.
  • Client and Centers of Influence Engagement: lead client seminars and local events in the region to build relationships and provide educational support. Actively participate in meetings to implement financial strategies for clients.
  • Collaboration with Centers of Influence: work with local Centers of Influence to execute client action plans, ensuring smooth execution and high client satisfaction.

Location, Schedule and Requirements

Hybrid schedule is available with locations in Salt Lake City, Utah; Boise, Idaho; and Las Vegas, Nevada. The role is based in Las Vegas, NV 89113.

Certifications and Experience

  • Certification: Certified Financial Planner designation required, with an additional area of specialty or advanced certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of client facing experience in financial services, including strong knowledge in tax and estate planning.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Leadership: proven success in managing and developing a team, with a focus on coaching, mentorship and resolving personnel issues.
  • Technical Proficiency: expertise in financial planning software including Zoom, PractiFi, MyComplianceOffice, Microsoft Teams/Office Suite, Tamarac, eMoney, Money Guide Pro, Social Security Analyzer, Advisys, MBS Highway, Zilculator, Holistiplan, Planner CS, Monday.com.
  • Client Focus: exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Communication: strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial concepts to clients and internal teams.
  • Detail Orientation: meticulous attention to detail with the ability to provide accurate, reliable financial guidance.
  • Independence: ability to work independently, make decisions with limited supervision and exercise discretion on sensitive matters.
  • Problem Solving: robust problem solving to identify challenges and implement quick, effective solutions that support workflow and client satisfaction.

Education

Undergraduate degree required.
