Financial Planner - Lead

We are seeking a Lead Planner and Service Advisor for our team in Buffalo Grove, IL. A Series 65 or 66 license is required, along with at least three years of direct client experience as a Financial Planner.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned clients within our Holistic Wealth Management division.
• Address client needs, requests, questions, and updates.
• Prepare comprehensive financial plan recommendations.
• Develop retirement income plans and track retirement plan progress.
• Prepare investment portfolio summaries and asset allocation analyses.
• Meet with clients regularly to establish trusting, supportive relationships.
• Prepare and analyze various financial planning reports.
• Utilize tax planning software to assess client tax situations and tax strategies.
• Run, review, and compare illustrations for annuities, life insurance, and long-term care (LTC) to find the best options for clients.
• Oversee preparation of various one-off analysis requests.
• Handle a variety of other financial planning related analyses and services as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and advisors on client cases.
• Conduct regular client reviews according to the assigned Service Model.
• Proactively check-in with clients throughout the year to ensure all client needs are met.

Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of experience working with clients as a Financial Planner is required.
• Series 65 or Series 66 license is required.
• CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER is preferred; CFP designation should be obtained within two years from the hire date.
• Life Insurance license is preferred; life license must be obtained within six months from the hire date.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Strong passion for financial and retirement planning.
• Enjoys working with numbers, spreadsheets and planning analyses.
• Very strong Microsoft Excel experience and familiarity.
• Highly detail-oriented and accurate.
• Capable of multi-tasking and tracking multiple items or projects simultaneously.
• Friendly, outgoing, and able to build and maintain strong relationships.
