Overview

The FP and A Analyst, serving a Home Health Agency, plays a key role in maintaining the organization’s financial health and supporting efficient operations. The role involves evaluating financial and operational data to inform strategic decisions, optimize resources, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with leadership to deliver insights on performance trends, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. This is an in person, on site position based in McKinney, Texas 75071.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Forecasting
    • Build and maintain financial models customized for home health operations, accounting for patient volume, payer mix, and reimbursement rates.
    • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections aligned with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements.
    • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure financial goals align with service delivery objectives.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Examine monthly financial performance, including revenue, cost per visit, labor utilization, and profit margins.
    • Track and report KPI metrics such as patient census, visit productivity, and payer reimbursement rates.
    • Provide detailed variance analysis against forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Operational Support
    • Work with operations to evaluate staffing models, overtime usage, and travel costs for field clinicians.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while preserving high quality of care.
    • Assess the financial impact of regulatory changes, reimbursement rate adjustments, and new service lines.
  • Strategic Decision Support
    • Conduct scenario planning and what-if analyses for expansion into new markets, service lines, or partnerships.
    • Offer financial insights to guide investments in technology, staffing, or patient care programs.
    • Assist leadership with ad hoc analyses and data-driven recommendations for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or healthcare related certification (for example CHFP or CPA) is a plus.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of FP&A experience, preferably within healthcare or a home health setting. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer reimbursement structures.

Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel. Experience with healthcare financial systems such as Homecare Homebase, Trella Health, or Sage Intacct. Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

Key Competencies: Strategic thinking with a solid grasp of how home health operations intersect with finance. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective collaboration across clinical, operational, and executive teams.

Experience and Technical Proficiencies

  • Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: 2 years (Preferred)

Schedule and Location

Location: McKinney, TX 75071. This is an in person role located on site. Schedule includes an 8-hour shift, Day shift, Monday through Friday.
