Financial Controller

About the Role

We are seeking an Entry to Mid-Level Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you will own our day-to-day financial operations, delivering leadership with clear, timely visibility into the company’s financial position. You don’t need to be a CFO; you should be organized, accurate, and comfortable working independently in QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Process all accounts payable and manage vendor payment scheduling; handle purchase order approvals and vendor communications.
• Cash Flow Management: Maintain and report on the daily cash position; develop and update cash flow forecasts; deliver weekly cash reports to leadership.
• Banking: Conduct morning bank reviews and monitor daily bank activity; own the primary bank reconciliation process.
• Budget Support: Prepare monthly P&L review materials for leadership; flag budget variances and track budget-to-actual performance.
• Tax Compliance: Manage quarterly tax filings; handle sales and use tax compliance.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to identify discrepancies.
• Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive financial information.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities.
• Proficient in QuickBooks.
• Experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and cash flow reporting.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax is a plus.
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but relevant experience counts.
• This role reports directly to leadership/owner and is an independent position within the finance function.

Education and Experience

• Education: Associate (Required) or higher.
• Experience: Financial analysis, 3 years (Preferred).
• Ability to Commute: Brainerd, MN 56401 (Required).
• Work Location: In person.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
