Role Overview
Lead the organization’s accounting function with a focus on financial discipline across all units. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping, overseeing internal controls, policy adherence, and the accuracy of key business metrics. Key Responsibilities
- Direct all accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and cash management
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
- Prepare and review property-level, entity-level, and consolidated financial statements
- Deliver clear financial reporting and analysis for ownership and management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal procedures
- Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of key financial and operational metrics (KPIs)
- Audit KPI data across systems to verify reliability and integrity
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to improve systems and decision-making
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5–10+ years of accounting or finance experience in progressively more senior roles
- Experience in real estate, property management, or multi-entity environments preferred (AppFolio experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting; sharp financial and operational instincts
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of holding systems and processes accountable
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year
