Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Consultant in Wealth and Investment Management as part of Wells Fargo Advisors. Learn more about career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com. In this role you will work with a Financial Advisor to provide clients with financial guidance aligned to their goals and risk tolerance, meet with clients to gather financial information, assess investment profiles, and evaluate client financial needs. You will advise clients on the pros and cons of different financial products and determine which products best fit their circumstances. The objective is to grow and retain client assets and attract potential new clients. Some responsibilities may be delegated by the Financial Advisor. This Loan Originator (LO) position involves customer contact and duties such as needs assessment and referring customers seeking a dwelling secured product to a SAFE team member. It also includes assisting customers without taking an application and without negotiating dwelling secured transaction terms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Financial Advisor to deliver financial guidance aligned with client goals and risk tolerance.
- Meet with clients to collect financial information and assess investment profiles.
- Evaluate clients’ financial needs and advise on the advantages and disadvantages of various financial products.
- Identify suitable financial products based on clients’ needs and financial situations.
- Focus on increasing and retaining existing client assets while pursuing new client opportunities.
- May be assigned selected responsibilities by the Financial Advisor.
- This LO position involves needs assessment for dwelling secured products and referral to a SAFE team member, without taking applications or negotiating terms.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Investment Advice experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- US only: Successfully completed Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) examinations (or FINRA recognized equivalents) sufficient to qualify for immediate FINRA registration.

Job Expectations and Licensing
Loan Originator (LO) candidates must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. Requirements include assessing financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess financial responsibility and credit fitness, though a credit score is not part of the evaluation. Some candidates will need to complete insurance exams within 90 or 180 days, depending on the number of licenses required, if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted and communicated at offer acceptance (if applicable).
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate FINRA licenses is required for ongoing employment in this position. Compliance with state registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. Additional product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply, along with enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities and personal investing. Affected employees will need to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and comply with applicable policy requirements if hired. This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA registered broker-dealer. Ongoing regulatory obligations include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
