Overview

At U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union, this Financial Analyst role offers the opportunity to influence financial outcomes by collecting, monitoring, and analyzing complex data. The position involves preparing, studying, and reporting analyses in areas such as member and product profitability, asset and liability management, investments, and financial plans.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and upload data to vendor systems, including detailed reconciliations across multiple platforms.
  • Assist with administering the credit union's Asset/Liability Management program and the Allowance for Credit Losses model.
  • Ensure model assumptions, inputs, and results are accurate.
  • Identify internal efficiencies and keep procedures current.
  • Prepare management reports and deliver analyses to various departments, committees, and the Board of Directors.
  • Perform analysis and reporting using multiple systems and data sets.
  • Collaborate with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization, to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations and reports on financial plans, operating forecasts, profitability, and similar financial matters.
  • Conduct peer and market comparison analysis and propose recommendations for identified opportunities.
  • Actively participate in the annual budgeting process and assist with ongoing tracking and analysis of performance to budget.
  • Assist in deploying liquidity into the Credit Union's investment portfolio and monitor ongoing risk within the portfolio.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum of one year of experience in a role requiring financial analysis and/or cost accounting techniques. Prior experience in a financial institution is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or accounting is required. An advanced degree or professional designation is a plus.

Interpersonal Skills

Role involves substantial personal contact for first level conflict resolution, relationship building, and obtaining cooperation. Interactions require confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of financial and economic concepts and their application in a business setting.
  • Business writing and oral presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex financial information into concise executive narratives.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities using efficient time management techniques.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills and software applications.
  • Strong adaptability to change.
  • Strong computer and software proficiency is required, with advanced MS Excel knowledge necessary.
  • Excellent spreadsheet management skills.
