Job Summary

The Financial Analyst II – Labor Benchmarking position requires residency in Texas. This role serves as the primary financial resource for the Labor Benchmarking Team and provides financial research to support the goals of Baylor and Baylor Health Care System (BHCS).

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Provide financial study support to administrators, department directors, and others as directed to aid the efficient and cost effective operation of BHCS.
  • Conduct external labor productivity benchmarking for hospital and clinic personnel to identify opportunities for optimization and cost efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to explain the benchmarking process, interpret results, and offer actionable insights to improve productivity.
  • Coordinate and manage data collection from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate benchmarking results to key stakeholders.
  • Analyze trends, patterns, and deviations in labor productivity data, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending strategies for enhancement.
  • Prepare research and present findings on any labor productivity changes as required.
  • Provide ongoing budget versus actual expense variance investigations through review of standard reports and entity-specific reports.
  • Prepare verbal or written results of department operating efficiencies and present or discuss them with management and others as required.
  • Develop and produce ad hoc Management Reports as requested.
  • Serve as a liaison between the assigned area and Outcome Support Services and other finance areas of BHCS.
  • Maintain professional growth by participating in educational programs and professional organizations to stay current with trends and developments; conduct finance training or presentations for BHCS personnel as directed.
