Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, growth minded professional to join our fiduciary, fee-only, team centered RIA firm. You will take over an existing small book of business in the Moscow, ID area, supported by marketing resources to help you build your own client base through assisted prospecting. The ideal candidate would hold a CFP certification and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to operate independently. This role offers potential for rapid career advancement to lead advisor, with eventual promotion to senior advisor focused on financial planning and mentoring of future associate planners. Relocation assistance to Moscow, ID is available for the right candidate, and remote work is negotiable.

Career Advancement

Advancement is based on experience:

  • Associate Advisor Level 1 (0-2 years): Learn financial planning according to Our Way under a Lead Advisor. Schedule new clients for team based meetings. Series 65 required.
  • Associate Advisor Level 2 (1-5 years): Assume leadership of client facing meetings and build client volume and AUM. Working towards CFP.
  • Lead Advisor (3+ years): Begin mentoring an associate advisor and leading your own team. CFP required.
  • Other future opportunities possible in our growing firm depending on skills and desire.

Responsibilities

Client Planning & Support

  • Assist Advisors in understanding and supporting their clients’ financial goals.
  • Develop and implement customized financial plans, including retirement planning, estate planning, tax strategies, investment strategies, and budgeting.
  • Prepare investment reviews and personalized meeting materials for advisors and their clients.
  • Use planning software (e.g., MoneyGuidePro, Nitrogen, Morningstar Advisor Workstation, Holistiplan and many others) to create and maintain financial scenarios and reports.
  • Ensure all financial plans remain current and responsive to client needs.
  • Research, teach, and analyze financial planning topics as needed.

Portfolio Management Support

  • Help design, implement, and maintain model portfolios across all client accounts.
  • Assign appropriate investment models to client portfolios and document changes with detailed notes.
  • Monitor client portfolios regularly and alert Lead Advisors to any deviations from model targets or significant performance issues.
  • Work with Lead Advisors and clients on non-qualified account management for tax loss/gain harvesting.
  • Assist with rebalancing activities, including data entry, documentation, and communication with operations staff.
  • Coordinate with custodians or trading platforms to ensure accuracy in portfolio implementation.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and their potential impact on model portfolios.
  • Support investment committee work by gathering data, running reports, and participating in discussions as requested.

Operational & Compliance Tasks

  • Enter and track tasks in Redtail CRM; maintain accurate and timely follow-ups.
  • Complete Smart RIA compliance tasks within 30 days of assignment.
  • Assign and manage workflows and service tasks related to compliance and client service.
  • Report any written client complaints promptly and appropriately.

Team & Culture Engagement

  • Actively participate in team meetings; be professional, punctual, and prepared.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain conduct that reflects the firm’s core values – courage, curiosity, truth, and wisdom.

Key Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of financial advising experience.
  • A desire for career growth; committed to the career of financial advising.
  • Ability to bring assets or a small book of business (preferred).

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of financial advising experience.
  • CFP certification or Series 65 license required or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Highly organized; works well independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the heart of a teacher.
  • Experience: Financial advising: 2 years (Required).
  • Work Location: In person.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • Location: Hybrid remote in Moscow, ID 83843.
  • Remote/hybrid work environment and flexible work schedule. Remote work is possible as long as five business days per month can be worked on location in Moscow, Idaho.
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: $50,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year.
  • Beginning compensation based on experience, with potential for growth as AUM increases.
  • Benefits include relocation assistance, training, CEU and registration fees covered, 401(k) with employer matching at 6 months, PTO - 2 weeks vacation, and market holidays closure.
