Finance Operations Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Finance Operations Manager to supervise the day-to-day financial activities and internal administrative operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organization’s infrastructure. The Executive Director remains responsible for budgeting and overall financial strategy, while this position handles execution, reporting accuracy, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly reconciliations
• Process payroll and keep payroll records up to date
• Track restricted funds and expenditures related to grants
• Prepare monthly financial statements for the Executive Director’s review
• Assist with audit preparation and Form 990 coordination
• Monitor construction draws and loan-related disbursements
• Maintain internal financial controls

Compliance & Administration

• Monitor grant compliance and ensure timely reporting
• Maintain insurance policies and corporate filings
• Support HR documentation and onboarding processes
• Maintain vendor contracts and administrative systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
• 2–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Prior experience in a nonprofit organization or similar role is desirable
• Experience with restricted funds and grant tracking
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience with accounting and financial reporting to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
