Role Overview
Hobe and Lucas CPAs seeks a Director of Finance and HR to supervise the firm’s internal financial management and human resources activities. This hands-on leadership position is ideal for a proactive, business-minded professional who enjoys solving problems, refining systems, and supporting growth in a professional services environment. The successful candidate will take ownership, drive process improvements, and collaborate with firm leadership to strengthen internal infrastructure as the firm expands.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership by owning the monthly internal financial statements
- Oversee the billing workflow and the final release of invoices to clients
- Manage accounts receivable, work in progress, realization, and collections
- Process payroll and oversee accounts payable, including Bill.com
- Lead cash flow forecasting and manage banking relationships
- Prepare and present monthly financial reporting to partners
- Monitor and drive improvements to key firm KPIs
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements
- Strengthen internal financial controls and reporting systems
- Serve as the firm’s primary HR contact and provide HR leadership
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes
- Oversee benefits administration and annual renewals
- Maintain HR compliance and employee documentation
- Coordinate the firm’s performance review process
- Address employee performance concerns and maintain related documentation
- Enforce firm policies and expectations
- Collaborate with fractional HR support as needed
Skills and Competencies
- Strong accounting and financial reporting capabilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Online
- Experience managing accounts receivable and cash flow
- HR administration and benefits oversight experience
- Solid problem-solving and process improvement mindset
- Comfort with learning and implementing new systems and technology
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with leadership
- Professional handling of confidential matters
Qualifications
- 7–15 years of accounting experience
- Experience in a professional services firm preferred
- Strong background in financial reporting and cash flow management
- Business-minded and growth-oriented
- Ability to work independently and hold others accountable
- Effective communication with partners, staff, and vendors
- CPA preferred but not required

Compensation
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
