Role Summary

The Greenhouse Movement seeks a financial leader to oversee the organization’s financial systems, controls, and reporting to advance our mission as a Christian non-profit. The role ensures financial clarity, accuracy, and integrity across multiple entities and platforms while developing durable systems that can scale with future growth. The final scope may vary based on candidate experience and the needs of the role.

Qualifications

• Requirements unique to this role
  • 5+ years experience in financial management (non-profit / church contexts preferred)
  • B.A. in business, finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
  • High level of integrity, judgment, and attention to detail
  • Engaging and cooperative leadership style
  • Proficient in GAAP, internal controls, Quickbooks, and Excel
• Requirements for all Greenhouse staff
  • Active Christian faith
  • Member of a local church
  • Agreement with Greenhouse Covenant for faith and conduct
  • Participation in the shared spiritual life of the organization (including prayer and worship)

Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight
  • Provide key controls for separation of duties, financial accuracy, and policy adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS requirements, and best practices.
• Team Leadership
  • Supervise 2 direct reports (see below), providing guidance, training, and accountability.
  • Clearly translate financial information for non-finance colleagues.
• Reporting
  • Prepare intuitive reports and dashboards to monitor key financial metrics.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Systems Development
  • Streamline, automate, and redesign processes to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Optimize the clarity and UX of all spreadsheets, dashboards, and tools.
• Documentation
  • Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for all financial workflows.
  • Develop protocols sufficient for discontinuity prevention.

Team Members

• Director of Operations — Signing authority for accounts payable.
• Bookkeeper — Quickbooks journal entries, classification, and reconciliation.
• Finance Assistant — Data entry for accounts receivable and payable.
