Overview
The Salina Airport Authority seeks a Director of Administration and Finance, a senior executive position responsible for financial management, administrative operations, the commercial real estate portfolio, risk management, and statutory compliance. The Director reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as a core member of the Authority's executive leadership team. The role delivers strategic financial leadership and operational direction to ensure the Airport and Airport Industrial Center are managed in a fiscally responsible, transparent, compliant, and sustainable manner.
Responsibilities
- Oversee budgeting and accounting functions to support sound financial planning and reporting
- Administer grants and manage grants compliance and administration
- Manage lease and real estate activities across the Authority’s portfolio
- Lead risk management and insurance programs
- Provide cybersecurity oversight to safeguard information and assets
- Prepare and deliver board and public financial reporting
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and regulatory compliance
- Oversee administrative operations to support organizational efficiency and effectiveness
Transition Onboarding Period
As part of onboarding, the role includes an initial deputy and transitionary period. During this time, the successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and existing senior leadership to gain a thorough understanding of the Authority's financial systems, capital programs, regulatory environment, and organizational structure. During this period, the Director of Administration and Finance will progressively assume executive-level decision making, coordinate across departments, and contribute to strategic planning to maintain continuity of operations and effective knowledge transfer.
This transitionary approach aims to position the Director as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director and Board, while preparing the individual to exercise broad independent judgment and leadership across administrative, financial, and compliance functions.
In this capacity, the Director collaborates with the Director of Facilities and Construction, the Manager of Operations, and other department leaders to align financial planning, capital investment, risk management, and administrative support with the operational and strategic priorities of the Airport and Industrial Center.
