Job Description
Overview
Provide objective, independent review and adjudication of credit applications and transactions for a designated portfolio, operating within established credit limits, or deliver well-supported credit recommendations with appropriate escalation. Ensure the credit quality of the assigned portfolios remains aligned with the Bank’s risk tolerance, internal policies and procedures, and financing guidelines. Support credit adjudication operations and related initiatives, and offer training and support to teams and channels where applications originate.

Risk Management and Advisory
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective risk management controls, analysis, and monitoring on both transactional and portfolio levels. Provide credit coaching, training, and support to the direct team and other stakeholders as required. Offer strategic input to business decisions as a trusted advisor. Present recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, grounded in a deep understanding of the business and group. Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies, and network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices. Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives. Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making. Recommend business priorities, advise on resource requirements, and develop a roadmap for strategic execution. Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals. Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues. Act as the primary subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and ensure alignment among stakeholders.
Information Management and Analytics
Develop and manage comprehensive information management systems; design and lead initiatives to improve processes, analysis, and reporting. Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and streamlined reporting. Define business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform decision making. Utilize systems (e.g., customized exception reports, tracking reports) to manage information. Break down strategic problems, analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Change Management and Communications
Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives. Drive the development of communication strategies focused on positively influencing or changing behaviour. Collaborate across the Bank to ensure messaging consistency and to support positive behaviour change. Oversee the execution of operational programs and adapt as needed to maintain quality of execution.
Credit Due Diligence and Client Engagement
Support credit due diligence activities for bank acquisitions or integrations. Review and communicate decisions on credit transactions with clear rationale that can be understood and explained to clients. Identify and advise on terms, conditions, and collateral requirements for the transaction decision, as well as opportunities for cross-selling and/or alternative solutions to meet client needs. Stay informed on economic and market developments within the portfolio to inform decision making and credit risk policies.
