Corporate Financial Controller

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Corporate Financial Controller based in Elmira, NY. The successful candidate will lead the Accounting Department and be responsible for generating monthly and year-end financial statements, monitoring cash flow, preparing budgets and forecasts, and overseeing payroll, cost accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The controller will prepare schedules for the year-end audit conducted by an external accounting firm. This role is a member of the Management Team and reports directly to the CEO, contributing strategic input to the company’s profitability.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Accounting Department and ensure timely production of monthly and year-end financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Oversee payroll, cost accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
• Prepare schedules for the annual audit performed by an external accounting firm.
• Participate as a member of the Management Team and provide financial insights to enhance profitability, reporting to the CEO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in preparing and managing financial statements and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and solid knowledge of finance concepts.
• Experience with accounting practices and principles; meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities; ability to interpret financial data.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial software.
• Proven experience in a similar financial leadership role.

Salary

Starting salary: $150,000 (based on experience) plus a year-end profit bonus.
