Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller leads the Finance Department staff and oversees day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with progressive experience in financial management and an understanding of the unique needs of the nonprofit sector.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $95,000 per year
Work Arrangement: Eligible for a hybrid work arrangement based on established company policy after an initial training and orientation period.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff supervision: Direct two finance employees, provide ongoing training, hold biweekly status meetings, and conduct annual performance evaluations.
- Payroll management: Oversee biweekly payroll review and approval for approximately 120 employees.
- Accounts payable/receivable: Manage A/P and A/R, including review of disbursements and processing of receivables.
- Billing and compliance: Oversee Medicaid billing processes and track or report state funds according to contract requirements.
- Financial reporting: Complete monthly bank reconciliations, prepare monthly journal entries, and analyze general ledger accounts.
- Audits: Participate in the preparation of annual financial, 401(k), and workers' compensation audits in conjunction with the CFO.
- Tax reporting: Handle annual 1099 reporting and W-2 verification.
Position Requirements
- Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or related master’s degree and CPA are strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of ten years of progressive related experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with Sage Intacct and Paycom (or similar ERP/Payroll systems) preferred.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented with a focus on internal controls, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
